RDF Extraction
The existence of the Semantic Web does not mean that the majority of information is still kept in unstructured or semi-structured format. Converting this information to RDF is a major goal of Semantic Web research. I started to work in this area when I supervised the thesis of Jörg Schüppel about extracting information from Wikipedia infoboxes together with Sören Auer. A few month later this became the code base for the widely used DBpedia project. Apart from DBpedia, we also perform data conversion in the LinkedGeoData and NLP2RDF projects.
